This course is ideal for community members, first responders, or anyone who wants to be certified to perform first aid. The instructor will provide clear, concise information on how to manage common injuries and illnesses, as well as recommendations on the use of hemostatic dressings and the application of tourniquets to stop severe bleeding. Students will learn how to use an epinephrine auto-injector, recognize the signs and symptoms of a stroke, differentiate between heart attack and cardiac arrest, and more.
Certification is good for two years and is issued through the Emergency Care & Safety Institute (ECSI) in association with the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS).
