Community Responders

These courses are designed for community members with little or no medical training. Students will learn to manage minor illnesses and injuries and will be trained to recognize and treat life-threateing situations until the arrival of emergency medical services. These courses can also be taken by first responders or anyone else who needs a course completion card as a job requirement or to satisfy regulatory requirements, such as OSHA. These are instructor-led classroom courses and feature hands-on practice. Students will receive coaching and feedback from a certified instructor with years of real-world EMS experience.

CPR and AED

This course has been updated to include the most recent CPR guidelines and is ideal for community members, first responders, or anyone who wants to be certified to perform CPR and use an AED. The instructor will provide clear, concise direction on how to perform CPR on adults, children and infants, and how to use an AED during an emergency. Class time is approximately 4 hours.

Standard First Aid

This course has been updated to include the most recent information and is ideal for community members, first responders, or anyone who wants to be certified to perform first aid. The instructor will provide clear, concise information on how to manage common injuries and illnesses, as well as new and updated content on the use of hemostatic dressings and the application of tourniquets to stop severe bleeding. Students will learn how to use an epinephrine auto-injector, recognize the signs and symptoms of a stroke, differentiate between heart attack and cardiac arrest, and more. Class time is approximately 4 hours.

$75 per student


Standard First Aid, CPR and AED

This course has been updated to include the most recent first aid and CPR guidelines and is ideal for community members, first responders, or anyone who wants to be certified to perform first aid, CPR and AED use. The instructor will provide clear, concise direction on how to perform CPR and use an AED during an emergency; current information on injuries and illnesses; new and updated content on the use of hemostatic dressings, application of tourniquets, administering epinephrine, dental care, and more. Class time is approximately 8 hours.

$125 per student

Heartsaver CPR AED

Heartsaver CPR AED is a video-based, instructor-led course that teaches adult and child CPR and AED use, infant CPR, and how to relieve choking in adults, children, and infants. This course teaches skills with the AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback, and guide the students’ learning of skills. This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training. Class time is approximately 4 hours.

$75 per student


Heartsaver First Aid

Heartsaver First Aid teaches students critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services arrives. Students learn duties and responsibilities of first aid rescuers; first aid actions for medical emergencies, including severe choking, heart attack, and stroke; and skills for handling injury and environmental emergencies, including external bleeding, broken bones and sprains, and bites and stings. Class time is approximately 4 hours.

Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED

Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED is a combination of the Heartsaver First Aid course and the Heartsaver CPR AED course. This course teaches skills with the AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback, and guide the students’ learning of skills. This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training. Class time is approximately 8 hours.

Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED

The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Course is designed to meet the regulatory requirements for child care workers in all 50 U.S. states. It teaches child care providers and others to respond to illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. The course covers child/infant CPR, child/infant AED, child/infant choking, and pediatric first aid. Adult CPR, AED and choking modules available. Class time is approximately 8 hours.
